SPRINTER OF PROMISE
The exceptional promise shown by the former Tongan schoolboy sprint champion, S. Pulu, was
one of the feature* of the athletic* *ea*on ju*t ended. Although virtually untrained before he came to New Zealand, he made great progress during the season and finished runner-up to W. Overend (Auckland) in the New Zealand 100 yard* ehampionihip. Both (printer* recorded lO.tsee. Pulu, wearing Otago colour*, also finished third In the 220 yard*, equal with Canterbury’* A. Tweedie, in 22.<*ee. If he continue* to train ceriously he could make an even greater mark on the national scene next *eason.
