Farm Accounting Seminar Planned
'THE New Zealand Society * of Accountants is planning to hold a special residential seminar in fam accounting at Lincoln College from May 16 to 19. The seminar is a follow-up of a school on this subject held at Massey University of Manawatu last year. The main purpose of this year’s seminar is to examine in greater depth aspects of the report issued last year under the title “Farm Accounting in New Zealand.” This was prepared by the society at the request of the Agricultural Production Council and in its preparation the society was assisted by representatives from lending institutions, Government departments, stock and station agencies, producer boards and other organisations. As a result the completed report is acceptable to all groups J
serving the farming community in the financial sphere. Attendance at the seminar will be restricted to 100, comprising 80 public accountants, together with a limited number of representatives from lending institutions, farm advisory officers and several public accountants from Australia. The public accountants will be drawn from all parts of New Zealand and will comprise a significant proportion of the profession serving the farming community in this field. In addition to the formal papers to be presented, there will be ample opportunity for informal discussions and all participants will be allocated to a study group for this purpose. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Taiboys, will attend the official opening of the seminar.
