ROLL NEAR MAXIMUM
Papanui High School If the intake of new students to the Papanui High School maintained its present rate, and if pupils maintained their present length of stay, there was every indication that the roll would exceed 1000 in 1968, said the headmaster, Mr E. Fancy, at the monthly meeting of the board of governors. The maximum for the existing accommodation was 1000, he said. The present roll was 990 519 boys and 471 girls. This was 28 more than last year. The board approved the purchase of two calculating machines for the mathmatics department. Mr P. J. Halligan, secretary to the board, announced that several board members had beeen re-elected. They were Messrs W. R. Cameron and C. C. McCready, employees’ representatives; Messrs O. C. Mitchelll and R. H. Truscott, employers' representatives-; * and Mr G. G. Don, representative of the City and Waimairi County Council.
