THIS HOLE-CUTTING MACHINE, developed by an American company which does considerable underground repair work, consists of a bell-shaped cutter on a hydraulically-operated boom mounted on a truck. When the cutter is rotated, it can cut out a circle of pavement 5ft wide. The noise It makes is considerably less nerve-racking than the conventional pneumatic drill.
