ESCAPE OF TIGERS
Restriction On Inquiry Report (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 28. When the result of the recent tiger inquiry was reached it would not be available for publication in newspapers, the chairman of the Wellington City Council parks and reserves committee, Cr. R. L. Archibald, announced today. The inquiry followed the shooting of two tigers in the grounds of Wellington Zoo after they had escaped from their cage. “It is an internal matter, and the decisions will be for internal use only. We have had quite enough publicity,” said Cr. Archibald. The inquiry concerned the use of the latest tranquillisers and tranquilliser guns, as well as the age of the animal at which the tranquillisers were potent.
