TRAINING PLANS

Exercise At Burnham Fifty senior territorial officers will gather at Burnham Military Camp next week-end to study Army directives for the training year, which officially begins on Saturday. The officers will be drawn from units of the 3rd Infantry Brigade Group scattered around New Zealand. Directed by the commander of the Southern Military District (Brigadier W. R. K. Morrison) the indoor exercise will deal with unit and sub-unit training. Australian. British and American military attaches will attend. Colonel D. F. Wharry of the British defence liaison staff, Colonel R. N. Grove, the United States Military Attache, and Colonel J. E. Pascoe the Australian Army representative, will all be present. Each of these officers will lecture on aspects of their own armies and it is expected tactics for South-east Asian fighting will be included. The camp will begin on Friday and end on Sunday afternoon.
