Wellington Leading (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Wellington boat, Charade, skippered by H. D. Poole, took a commanding lead in the Sanders Cpp yachting competition, winning the first two races yesterday. Although he won the first race by a mere 12sec from the Auckland boat Outlaw (D. Lidgard), the second race provided Poole with an easy victory. First Race.—Wellington 1, Auckland 2, Otago 3, Manawatu 4, Wanganui 5, Stewart Island 6. Second Race.—Wellington 1, Auckland 2, Manawatu 3, Stewart Island 4, Wanganui 5, Otago disqualified. Points after two races: Wellington 1758. Auckland 1156, Manawatu 679, Otago 420, Stewart Island 378, Wanganui 360. HERON CLASS The Australian Heron class yachtsmen continued their dominance in the inter-Dominion contest at Auckland yesterday, winning the final two races. Australia won the A Section by 14J points to New Zealand's 27, and the B Section, 181-24. FLYING DUTCHMAN The leading Australian Flying Dutchman skipper, C. Whitworth, scored his second successive victory in the inter-Dom-inion championships at Sydney yesterday. Whitworth, sailing Paprika, won the second heat by about 40sec from his countryman, M. Fletcher, in Valkyrie, with New Zealand’s Outburst, sailed by B. Wilson, third. New Zealand's gold medallist, H. O. L. Pedersen, finished sixth in Ondine.
