Mr R. G. Norman has been appointed a member of the State Services Commission. He is Chief Designing Engineer of the Ministry of Works and succeeds Dr. R. M. Williams, who recently resigned to become Vice-Chancellor of Otago University.—(P.A.) The Deputy Chief Postmaster in Christchurch for country areas (Mr M. Johnston) is now also in charge of city and suburban services. He will bold the position until the appointment of a permanent replacement for Mr G. F. Bell, who retired last week after 42 years’ service.
