Aden
Sir, —It seems obvious that Nasser intends to take over Aden on the departure of the British. At the time of the Suez crisis, England could have smashed Nasser as easily as Israel disposed of his army, had it not been for the association (all too brief) of the U.S.S.R. and U.S.A. As by no means an impassioned admirer of American diplomatic achievements, I cannot refrain from saying that she appears singularly unfortunate in her choice of the power politicians she has backed since the war.—Yours, etc., 1. S. T. March 28, 1967.
