DOCTORS STRIKE
Status Call By Greeks (N.Z. P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) ATHENS, March 27. Hospital and medical services throughout Greece came to a standstill today as the country’s 20,000 doctors, dentists and chemists struck in demand of an Improvement in their status. Only one doctor remained on duty in each state hospital to handle emergency cases. Although the doctors will continue to treat private patients, those covered under insurance schemes will not receive treatment. Meanwhile, 6500 Greek postmen began a series of four-hour daily stoppages today in support of wage demands. Trolley bus crews in Athens also staged a threehour stoppage during the morning rush hour to press for better working conditions.
