Labour’s Choice
Mr B. G. Barclay was selected last evening as the Labour Party’s candidate for the Fendalton by-election. Mr Barclay, a 42-year-old dairy farmer, of Halswell, has stood for Fendalton at the last two General Elections. He is a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board. He was opposed by Mr B. T. Brooks, a lecturer in law at the University of Canterbury.
