HALL FIRE
A small fire in the basement of the Masonic Hall on the corner of Dyers Pass and Hackthorne roads about 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, caused only minor damage. One machine from Woolston and one from headquarters attended. Before that one machine from headquarters had dealt with a small grass and scrub fire adjacent to Dyers Pass road within 100yds of the Sign of the Kiwi.
