Visitors For Field Trip
Two members of the Audubon Society of America accompanied the Canterbury branch of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand on its trip to Mount Grey on Saturday. Mr and Mrs A. Eddie, officials of the Connecticut Zone of the Audubon Society, were on the trip to see New Zealand wild life as well as observe the methods used by the Forest and Bird Society, in conducting field trips. The lecturer for the trip, which was to Journey’s End, Mount Grey, was Mr C. J. Burrows, a botanist at the University of Canterbury. Two visitors from Hampshire, at the edge of the New Forest, also accompanied society members on the trip. The secretary of the society (Mr W. J. Harris) said it was unusual to have so many overseas visitors on a field trip at one time.
