FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —A depression over the central Tasman is moving east-south-eastwards as a cold front moves north-eastwards over the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury and Marlborough.—Fresh, cold southerly winds with occasional rain and some snow on the ranges. Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Fresh northeasterlies developing. Overcast with rain; rather mild. Outlook: Becoming fine on the West Coast and probably Nelson, but some showers elsewhere.
