(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BANGKOK. R. Vines (Australia) shot a steady 70 to be equal second in the first round of the Thailand Open golf championship yesterday. Hsu Chin San (Formosa) scored a four-under-par 68 to lead the championship. Shisashi Suzumura (Japan) was equal with Vines.
Defending Title.—The Empire feather-weight boxing champion, J. O’Brien /Scotland) will defend his title against the Australian champion, J. Famechon, “if the money and terms are right." O'Brien said he was willing to travel to Australia for the match.
Badminton Defeat.—The New Zealander, Miss S. Cox, was beaten in the second round of the All-England badminton championships, 11-1. 11-0, by Miss N. Takagi (Japan).
