The 15-year-old New Zealend Air Force shot put record of D. Herman (Christchurch) w«» broken during the R.N.Z.A.F. inter-base athletics champion•hips at Wlgram yesterday. R. Louis, of the winning Wlgram team, added 2ft 7in to the old record with his best throw of 45ft 9Jln. The three mile re cord of the former national long distance champion, K. E. Williams. was broken by the Wellington representative athlete. L. Martin (Shelly Bay), who recorded 14min 29.65ec Williams's record of 14: Msec had stood since 1953.
