Prince Hagen At Top
“The Press" Special Service LEVIN. Prince Hagen ran a good final trial at Levin yesterday for the Suburban Handicap at Trentham on Saturday. Prince Hagen (W. D. Skelton) sprinted home from the halfmile in 49isec, the final three furlongs in 37}sec. The Hutt Handicap candidate. Loofah, was disappointing when running six furlongs in Imin 16sec, the last half-mile in 31 4-ssec and the final three furlongs in 40 4-ssec.
W. D. Skelton shook the reins at him inside the furlong but he did not appear to be working with his usual dash. Shogun, Cephas and Lady Janus finished in that order after six furlongs in Imin 19 2-ssec. Cephas, a President’s Handicap runner, appeared to be doing best at the end.
