PASSENGER HIT
Rocks Thrown At Cable Car (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 16. A man bombarded Wellington’s cable car from above Talavera terrace yesterday with bricks and rocks, smashing windows and injuring a woman passenger The passenger, Miss T. Hawkins, aged 18, was struck across the face by a jagged lump of greywacke. She told the driver, Mr A. Karus, that she had seen the man hiding in bushes near Talavera station.
A City Transport Department spokesman said today the cable car had been stoned irregularly since Monday.
