Test ‘Really Big One’
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. Richie Benaud, the former test player, in the Sydney “Sun” yesterday quoted the Australian captain, L. E. Favell, as having said in a radio telephone interview that the third unofficial test against New Zealand was vital for the prestige of the touring side. “We haven’t done as well as we should so far on this tour," he said. “This one is the really big one for us—it’s easily the most vital game of the tour. “We’ve just got to win to recover some of the prestige we’ve lost in the first two tests.”
