Fourth N.Z. Champion
Manoel Santos, the Tonganborn freezing works’ employee, is the fourth person in New Zealand to have won an Empire boxing title. The others were Bos Murphy, Barry Brown and Tuna Scanlan. Santos, who settled in Auckland several years ago, now holds the New Zealand and Empire titles after only 20 professional fights.
