Champion At Two Sports
(N.I. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A former New Zealand billiards and bowls champion. Mr Arthur Leonard Albertson, died at his home in Auckland on Wednesday. He was 69. Mr Albertson won the Auckland bowls singles in the 1949-50 season, and represented New Zealand at billiards in the Empire Games in Australia in 1938. At one time he simultaneously held the national, Auckland City and Auckland provincial billiards championships.
Tennis Supporters.—A number of persons interested tn the welfare of tennis in Canterbury, including Messrs G. E. Atkinson, E. Biddle. J. K. Burtt and J. Mercer, have called a meeting to consider forming a tennis supporters’ club. The inaugural meeting will be held at Wilding Park on Monday evening.
