Jockeys To Resume
“The Press" Special Service DUNEDIN. R. O. Cairns and J. D. Pankhurst, two Wingatui jockeys who have been on the Injured list, will resume race-riding at the Birchwood Hunt Club’s meeting at Riverton on Saturday. Cairns, who broke a leg when Game Call fell in the Dromore Steeplechase at Ashburton last June, will ride Kumai in the Gardner Memorial Steeplechase. Pankhurst, who was injured when his mount, Miss Slick, was involved in the three-horse fall in the Trial Stakes at the Cromwell Jockey Club’s meeting, will ride Silver Atom.
