Change Of Secretary
The Methven show has a new secretary this year. He is Mr A. H. McCormack, a public accountant of Christchurch, who has succeeded Mr W. J. Heslop, who has retired from business as a public accountant and from the secretaryship.
Mr McCormack served aigdj treasurer for the West CoastM Industries Fair at Greyq| mouth for two years. Mr Heslop has been sec-ap retary of the Methvenv association for six shows,' and a dinner was held in Methven this week in his honour. It was attended by past presidents and committee men with whom he has worked.
“It has been a pleasant association,’* said Mr Heslop last week-end, looking back on his service with the Methven show. “It has been a great committee to work with. There has never been any difficulty in getting chaps to do things.” Mr Heslop paid a tribute to the assistance he had from Miss B. Bonniface, who has been his secretary. Ha said that she knew as much about the show as he did. Mr Heslop’s association with the district is not at an end. He is a keen fisherman and the Rakaia and Lake Coleridge are his favourite haunts.
