ATTEMPTED ABORTION
(N Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, March 15. The death of a 23-year-old Westmere girl, Carole Jean Harvey, whose body was found near College road, Glen Innes, on October 30, was due to the inhalation of vomit, probably secondary to air or soap embolism, during an attempted criminal abortion on or about October 18, the Auckland Coroner, Mr A. D. Copeland, found this afternoon.
Dr. D. J. A. Doyle, a pathologist, said a post-mortem examination of Miss Harvey’s partly decomposed body showed an attempted interference with a pregnancy about two months advanced. In his opinion death was due to the inhalation of vomit, some of which included sweetcorn seeds.
