(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The Merivale-Papanui Rugby club on Tuesday beat the Briars club, of Sydney, 33-3, in a bright open match. The half-time score was 20-3. Tries for the tourists were ■cored by McCaughan (4), Ramsay and Emerson. Pirie converted all six and kicked a penalty.
