Mr H. G. Hartnell was elected president of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association at its annual meeting yesterday, and Mr T. C. Grigg was elected vice-president. Other officers elected were: —Honorary treasurer, Mr A. H. Gould: committee, Messrs T. E. M. Brooks, W .H. Brown, J. M. Chamberlain, S. Deans, J. H. Ensor, G. G. Goodwin, J. G. Gunn, H. J. Hurford, R. B. Johnson, G. D. Kelly, C. N. Mackenzie, M. R. Murchison, E. V. Murray, F. A. Mclntosh, P. S. Northcote, and A. D. Oliver.
Port Slack.—Work around the Port of Wellington is slack again and 728 watersiders were sent home yesterday without jobs,—(P-A.).
