Wage Restraint Fight
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, March 13. British Government proposals to control wages are to be opposed by the powerful 1,400,000-member Transport and General Workers’ Union. The general secretary, Mr Frank Cousins, said today the union would fight wage restraint “whoever wraps it up.” The union would refuse to report to the Government new wage claims it Intended making, nor would it heed decisions of the National Board for Prices and Incomes, he said.
