Trading Still Light On Firm Market
Trading on New Zealand stock exchanges was again light yesterday, but the firmness evident in the last two weeks continued.
Rises over-all outnumbered falls by 14 to 10 in light trading throughout New Zealand. Most of the variations were in secondary stocks. Bell gained another 3d to 19s 6d and is now 6d from the opening price this year of 20s. J. Wattie recovered another 17s—its highest ex issue price this year.
Further recoveries were made by Southland Frozen Meat and Unit Subdivisions. Canterbury Frozen Meat, which climbed 6d to 14s last
week' on news of the one for four cash issue at par, fell 6d to 13s 9d. Another local stock. Lane Walker Rudkin, lost 3d to 14s 6d.
