INTEREST IN “MONA VALE”
Aged People’s Council The Christchurch Aged People's Welfare Council is interested in acquiring a portion of the “Mona Vale” property to use as a rest home for the elderly. The secretary (Mrs M. E. Laurie) said last night that the council’s executive met on Monday to discuss the matter. As a result it had told the Christchurch Regional Planning Authority of its interest. The council had no detailed plans, but considered the project as a very long term one, said Mrs Laurie. Already a sub-committee has inspected the property and a number of locations were considered suitable for what it had in mind.
