GATE CRASHERS TURNED OUT
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 13. Police patrols, including the police van and dog, went to about five Auckland houses on Saturday night in the opening drive against party gate-crashers. One youth was arrested.
A patrol arrived at a flat in Remuera, where four college girls were giving a flat - warming party. Invitations had been sent to 60 or 70 but an estimated 25 or 30 turned up uninvited.
Most of the gate-crash-ers were moving about on the fringe of the party and questions about who was host brought such answers as “haven’t a clue” and “search me.”
When the youth was arrested between 15 and 20 youths and girls scattered to can. Others drifted off when the police van arrived with the dog and his handler.
Crashers at other parties moved away quietly when police arrived after being called.
