Man Unconscious Since July Dies
(New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, March 13. A 24-year-old Hamilton man died on Saturday in the Waikato Hospital after he had been unconscious since July last year.
The man, who was involved in a car crash at Oamaru on July 26 last year, was: Garry Victor Gillespie, of 52 Galloway street, Hamilton. He suffered severe head injuries and was taken unconscious to the Oamaru Hospital. From there he was transferred to the Dunedin Hospital and later, while still unconscious, he was taken to the Waikato Hospital. Man Identified A man who suffered fatal head injuries when struck by a car outside the King’s Wharf gates at Wellington about 11.45 a.m. on Saturday has been identified as Stanley John Merry, aged
about 45, of Wilkinson street, Wellington. Tractor Rolled A 20-year-old bulldozer driver died in the Waipukurau Hospital this afternoon from injuries suffered when the crawler tractor he was driving at Porangahau on Thursday afternoon rolled on him. He was Martin Blakey, of Hastings street, South Hastings. Mr Blakey was discovered lying beneath the tractor at 6.3 p.m. on Thursday after the vehicle had rolled down a bank in the field he was giant discing.
