Three League Men Nominated
The Canterbury Rugby League will nominate three men for official positions with the New Zealand team to tour Australia from late May.
Th* chairman, Mr D. C. Wilson, was nominated last evening at a meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League, for either of the manager positions. The coach of the Kiwi aide which played Britain laat year (Mr D. L. Blanchard) will also be nominated for a similar position.
Mr J. Speck will be named by Canterbury as a suitable physiotherapist-baggageman. Canterbury will advise the council that Mr Speck has had considerable experience with overseas teams playing in Christchurch.
The national advisory coach, Mr C. R. Mountford, congratulated Canterbury on the successful school held In Christchurch recently. In his letter he also commended the players for entering Ihto the spirit of the school.
It was reported that last Saturday’s coaching course at the Show Grounds was not as successful as had been hoped, because of bad weather. It wa* decided to hold a further course
at the Show Grounds next Sunday, March 19, for all coaches and players. So that coaches and referees can gain a greater understanding of the new rules, a meeting will be held for them on March 29.
