HIGHLAND DANCING
Fifty-seven dancers competed In the first national dancing competitions conducted by the recently formed Hornby Caledonian Society on SaturOpening addresees were given by Mr C. C. A. MacLachlan. member of Parliament for Selwyn, and Mr M. A. Connelly, member of Parliament for Biccarton. Attention was drawn to the fact that the society, formed only three months ago, gives assistance In tho formation and continuance of any sports or social undertaking. Challenge cupe were won by A.
