Garden Club Awards
The St George’s Garden Club held an evening for the presentation of cups and awards in its recent garden competition. There was a large attendance. Mr E. W. Rodgers presented the awards and showed slides. Solos by Mrs J. Brook were accompanied by Mrs G. Benzie.
Miss P. Haylock won the arts and crafts competition and was given a gift voucher. Competition results were: best bloom, Miss H. Munro, 1; Mrs A. Giblett, 2; Mrs S. Marks and Miss P. Haylock, 3. Novelty, Miss P. Haylock, I; Mrs G. Taylor, 2; Mrs M. Smith, 3. Officers elected were: president Mrs L. Coote; secretary, Mrs R. Gordon; treasurer, Mrs R. Johnston; committee, Mesdames D. Berry, A. Cowlin, I. Hall, K. Hyland, A. Humphrey.
