On The Air
Millions of radio listeners waiting to hear a newscast were riveted last night by a girl’s cry: “Bob, you’ll have to stop.” The British Broadcasting Corporation was flooded with phone calls demanding more information. The corporation explained with dignity that the studio manager, Miss Anne Paveley, had been warning the producer, Mr Bob Craddock, to cut short a phone conversation because they were going on the air.—London, March 10.
