Panmure Aces became the New Zealand champion women's softball team when it won the Dustin Cup by beating Broadway (Wellington) 6-1 in a play-off. Monowai (Canterbury), which was unbeaten in the earlier rounds, lost both its matches on the last day when it was beaten by Broadway and Panmure after leading by the sixth innings in both matches. The match against Panmure was much tighter. Down 5-6 starting its last innings. Panmure applied pressure and hit three runs to give it a narrow 8-6 win when it kept Monowai scoreless in its last innings.
