Brilliant roller skating by the world champions from Germany -Karl-Heinz Losch, Dieter Fingerle and Miss Uta Keller—delighted a good crowd at Canterbury Court yesterday. The skaters were making their last of 19 appearances in New Zealand before leaving for Australia.
Losch began the programme with a classical routine which fully demonstrated the qualities that have won him the world solo championship five times. The pairs skaters, Miss Keller and Fingerle, presented a lively rock and roll number as their first routine which captivated the. audience. After the interval the three Germans appeared in a trio exhibition in naval dress, in a highly perfected ballet style. Losch surprised in his final item with a salute to the Beatles. He showed fine aptitude for comedy. / The remainder of the exhibition was made up of skating by the combined clubs of Christchurch.
The exhibition waa to have been held at the Bollerdrome at Hornby but because of the wintry conditions was transferred indoors to Canterbury Court.
