WEEK-END INJURIES
Six persons were admitted to hospital after two cars collided at the corner of Tram and Poyntz roads. West Eyreton, about 3 pan. yesterday. Their condition was reported to be moderately serious.
The occupants of one car were Alfred James Batchelor, of 177 Kendal avenue, who suffered head and arm injuries, and his wife, Dorothy, who suffered head and leg injuries and shock. In the other car were Colin Fleming, of 91 Hastings street, who suffered head and leg injuries; Judith Ann McAra, of 34 Vardon crescent, head, arm and leg injuries and shock; Paul Anthony Sweeney, of 1 Heathcote street, head, chest, arm and leg injuries; and Rosemary Franklin, of 2 Proctor street, whose left eye was injured by glass.
Five of the injured persons were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, and Miss Franklin was admitted to the Burwood Hospital. They were brought to Christchurch by the Rangiora St. John ambulance.
Fell From Van.—Peter Wright, of 38 Division street, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries after he fell from a van at Pines Beach yesterday evening.
Car Hits Tree.—Head injuries were suffered by Ronald Leslie Mason, of 215 Waimea terrace, when a car hit a tree in Waimea terrace late on Saturday afternoon. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Head Injuries.—Two persons were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries after two cars collided at Fernside on Saturday afternoon. They are Allan John Fiddler, of Cust, and George William Farquhar, of Fernside. ■«.
