FOUR-WICKET VICTORY
Hurunui beat Ellesmere by four wickets on the first innings in a sub-association cricket match at Leeston yesterday. After winning the toss Ellesmere scored 145. At one stage Ellesmere was 106 for one wicket but G. Dunster (7/37) wrecked the innings with his medium fast bowling. D. Mcßae score 73 for Ellesmere. including 26 off one over. In reply, Hurunui made 148 for six wickets, F. Fowler hitting 42, and P. Rutherford 49. A. Grayburn (3/52) and M. Chamberlain (2/17) bowled well for Ellesmere.
