Lacaze Still In Form
In 1960 the leading fullback with the touring French Rugby League team which toured Australia was P. Lacaze. Last Saturday, seven years later, he kicked seven goals to help France beat England in the international at Wigan. Lacaze showed form as a player when in New Zealand but at the after-match function at Christchurch it was evident that he was not on the best of terms with his team-mates. They treated him as though he had an infectious disease. He moved into a corner by himself, in badly creased and soiled clothes, and stayed there for the duration of the function.
