FIRST LOSS
The Weymouth Rowing Club, the youngest club in Auckland and possibly New Zealand, gained its first national title at the Dominion championships last week when M. Davy and L. Williams won the junior coxless pairs. In November of last year the two boys, both
18 years old, bought their own racing shell at a cost of £3OO. On Lake Waihola they defeated the Union crew of Christchurch, by one and a quarter lengths. This was the first time that the Union crew had been beaten this season.
