Falls Just Shade Rises
Falls just shaded rises on New Zealand stock exchanges, yesterday. The market was again listless and the range of traded issues was narrow.
Most price movements were narrow. There was active trading in preference shares, Government stock and local body loans. Ampol shares also were well traded. Rises of 3d were chalked up by Charles Begg, to 13s, Gear Meat, to Ils 3d, Prestige, to 10s 6d, and South British Insurance, to 27s 9d. M.K. Manufacturers, at 6s
6d and N.Z. Refrigerating deferred shares, at 10s, each recovered 6d. The overseas Bank of N.S.W. rose 3d to 43s 6d. The largest fall was recorded by J. Rattray, 9d down to 14s. General Foods, at 10s 9d and rights at Is 9d each lost Id. Associated British Cables eased 2d to 19s Id.
