Provisional Clearance

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The 1959-66 Kiwi, G. M. Kennedy (West Coast), was last evening given a clearance by the New? Zealand Rugby League to play in Australia —but only under the official control of the Australian Rugby League board of control. A letter was received from Kennedy, who advised the council he was at present living in Wagga Wagga. The Wagga Wagga club was one of the “rebel” clubs which formed a breakaway league in Australia last year. Dr. L. J. Cooney said that the Australian League would be advised of the council’s decision. “If Australia doesn’t clear him to play for Wagga Wagga, and he plays for them, then it could affect his chances of playing in New Zealand again,” said Dr. Cooney.
