ONE-ACT PLAYS
The Elmwood Players will present an evening of one-act plays by New Zealand authors —the winning entries in its competition—from March 13 to 18.
The plays are “By Request,” by Ernest Adams, produced by Alex Henderson; “Woman of Troy,” by Brian Gallas, produced by Hunter Bell; and "Tali Grows the Tawney Weed,” by Joan Calder of Motueka, produced by Keith Cooke.
The plays, at present in rehearsal, will be presented at the Elmwood Playhouse. In their competition, the first of its kind by a New Zealand amatuer theatre group, the Elmwood Players offered to perform the three best plays submitted by playwrights in the British Drama League's North Canterbury area.
