DIFFERENCE DENIED
No Rusk Rift On Bombing
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Feb. 26. The United States Secretary of Defence, Mr Robert McNamara, denied on Friday reports of differences between himself and the Secretary of State, Mr Dean Rusk, on bombing North Vietnam. In two years, he said, he could not recall a single instance where their recommendations on targets had differed. The reports had possibly arisen, he said, because he and Mr Rusk had testified before different Congressional committees and different groups of people, so that it might sound to some that they were talking from different positions.
