Daytona 500 Winner
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) DAYTONA BEACH (Florida) Mario Andretti, of the United States, won the Dayton 500 stock car race here last week-end in a 1967 Ford. He completed the 200 laps at an average speed of 146.926 m.p.h. and won 35,000 dollars in prize money. Britain’s Innes Ireland, the only foreign driver in the race, retired after 131 laps when the engine of his 1966 Dodge seized. He was 21st at the time after three pit stops.
