Injured Australians

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The injury list of the touring Australian cricketers grew yesterday when P. L Philpott, the allrounder, had a recurrence of an old shoulder injury. A. Frost, the fast bowler who strained an ankle at Wellington last week, Is recovering well and K. Cunningham, who bruised a knee before the Auckland game, may be fit enough to play against Central Districts in the match

which will start at Palmerston North today. Philpott, whose shoulder will need treatment, and Cunningham will go to Palmerston North, but Frost will remain in Auckland until Thursday. He will rejoin the side at Palmerston North and have a fitness test there to see if he will be available for the first test against New Zealand, which starts at New Plymouth on Friday. Mr F. Bryant, the Australians’ manager, said that it was doubtful if Frost would be available for the first test, but he seemed certain to be ready for the second test, which starts at Dunedin on March 10.
