Fund Near £17,000

GREYMOUTH, Feb. 27.
The Strongman disaster fund is nearing £17,000. The Mayor of Runanga (Mr C. R. Wylde) received a donation of £5OO today from Sir William Stevenson, administrator of the Stevenson Trust in Howick. The Makarewa branch of the Freezing Workers’ Union sent £254 and the Anchor Shipping and Foundry Co., Ltd., of Nelson, sent £lOO. The children left fatherless by the disaster have been offered another holiday in May. The offer was made by the Mayor of Taradale to the Mayor of Greymouth (Dr. D. M. Dallas) and Mr Wylde at the Municipal Association conference in Dunedin last week.
