(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright)
CAMERON HIGHLANDS (Malaya), Feb. 27.
Malaysia and Singapore today pledged to make a fresh start to improve their troubled relations, which have been soured by Singapore's separation from the Malaysian Federation 18 months ago, a surprise communique announced. A brief statement released by the Singapore Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, after a week-end game of golf with the Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Cabinet Ministers, said that the new relations would be built on a more realistic and practical basis. Mr Lee declined to comment on the surprise communique.
