C.A.R.P,

Sir, —Having read that the activities of C.A.R.P. are causing some unemployment of bakers in Auckland, 1 am reminded of my shopping experience last Thursday. In my local store a carping female was talking volubly about a housewives’ protest meeting, to be held here that night. She said that she was a careful shopper but found it hard to make ends meet. She then proceeded to buy a carton of ice-cream, two packets of biscuits and some sweets at a cost of 9s 6d. Still talking, she left the shop, leaving the rest of us dumbfounded, but definitely antiC.A.R.P. Yours, etc., CAREFUL SHOPPER. February 27, 1967.
